White taxis also have the possibility of picking passengers from anywhere but it is not normal to flag them down in the road as these are not normally roaming the streets in search of clients. The norm is to find them waiting at popular tourist spots around Malta. If you need to book a taxi from a specific location you can either call a White taxi on 21 823 017 (always agree on a price beforehand) or alternatively call one of the other more reliable private garages that offer chauffer driven services in black taxis (similar to the UK minicab). Your hotel should be more than happy to assist you with this.
It is also possible to cross between Valletta and Senglea or Vittoriosa in the Grand Harbour using a traditional Maltese boat as a water taxi. Visit www.maltesewatertaxis.com for more information.
The only air travel link on the island is a seaplane service between Malta (Valletta Waterfront) and Gozo (Mgarr Harbour) which runs between March and November. One way fares are circa €45. Refer to www.harbourairmalta.com for more information.
