Sliema is somewhat more of an upmarket family oriented retreat with a stretch of coastal promenade popular with the locals throughout the year. It is a daily routine to see the cross-generation community strolling along ‘the front’ dropping in a private lido during the day, relaxing in a café during the late afternoon and feasting in one of the many restaurants throughout the evening. Sliema is also home to a number of upmarket shopping outlets selling branded and fashionable items across all the retail range.

St. Julian’s is the more cosmopolitan partner. With Paceville at its heart, the nightlife capital of the island, here you can find entertainment establishments to satisfy all tastes and needs. Nightclubs, disco-bars, pubs, restaurants, take-aways, casinos, shopping malls, bowling alleys, cinemas…you name it. St. George’s bay, a small stretch of coast known as the golden mile, is home to five 5-star international hotels alone. A more recent phenomenon is the ever growing presence of English-language schools for foreigners, adding to the international feel of the place with many of these students hanging around the area throughout their stay.
