Ferretti Overview

The setting of Ferretti is very hard to beat. A restaurant situated in the South of Malta located within an original 18th century battery complete with bridge, moat and fortifications, gloriously redecorated to marry the old and the new. Half of Ferretti's sell must be the uniqueness of the place itself.

Ferretti overlooks Birzebbugia's bay with the picturesque sight of small boats moored across during the day and the lit-up Malta Freeport serving as a surreal backdrop in the evenings. The original structure and typical stone masonry of the historic fort have been restored and complemented with the intelligent use of steel, glass and modern finishing that create a lovely balance that is very pleasing to the eye. The large decked patio is perfect for al fresco dining.

But Ferretti is not all about looks. The restaurant serves a vast assortment of Mediterranean cuisine. From meats to fish, pasta to pizzas, pastries to desserts. Whatever the occasion or your mood, the place lends itself well. A casual pizza night over a fine glass of wine with friends, a romantic three course dinner inclusive of champagne or pasta for a quick business lunch...the kitchen at Ferretti adapts to various needs. The good bottle selection of wines available are stored in a cellar that used to serve as the battery's water reservoir with perfect temperature conditions.

Considering its beautiful setting, it is no surprise that Ferretti has also quickly become popular for private and business functions, be it a stand-up reception or a formal sit-down meal.

If visiting the South of Malta, and Ferretti could be reason enough to visit, this place is a recommended option. There is something magical about being entertained in a place that breathes history...it might be a cliché but “if only these walls could talk”.

  Really nice

  We visited the place last Sunday for lunch and didn't pre book,our fault but the staff managed to find a table for three and the food was superb and the place is fantastic. Will be visiting again.

  Care and Dedication

  Together with my wife and kids, I booked for Sunday Lunch and I would just like to congratulate the management for huge success they are making. I went only once before, late August, and vowed never to go again however was tempted to go again by my friends. Food is excellent, Service was very good and price was quite reasonable. Due to ample space for the kids to play, at least both me and my wife managed to eat both 1st and 2nd course. Congratulations !

  found this place by chance when i wanted a weekly lunch with mum for my birthday.....we didnt want a rush lunch...and the service was really nice...the menu was full of choices and the tortilgioni of lobster are to die for........as a venue it wonderfully spacious and has a very unique atmosphere....im sure ill be visiting again!!!!!!

  that little bit special

  We visit my wife's relatives in Malta regularly. This time we were around for Christmas.. We decided to try out this new place. What a great piece of design. Felt special eating here. A great night out.
